Just found this website on re-branding the BP logo.

This is my favorite one thus far:

What would you re-brand the BP logo to look like?

BP Twitter Account
I'm surprised at how long BP has let the fake Twitter account "BPGlobalPR" last. It's become more popular than BP's actual Twitter account.
The mockitter does get a powerful point across; in a crisis, the best thing a company can do is ramp up its PR, otherwise someone else will do it for you and probably not that way you would like.
To check out the twitter account, go to: http://twitter.com/bpglobalpr
Also, order one of the shirts they are offering online. http://www.streetgiant.bigcartel.com/product/bp-cares All of the proceeds go to www.healthygulf.org. Or you can donate to the National Wildlife Federation. The animals who are affected by this oil spill need our help.

Lady Gaga It
Love her or hate her, you have to admit that Lady Gaga is one of the most recognized brand personas. Why is that? Consistency. Lady Gaga is known for her outfits and out of the box interviews, so people consistently tune it to see what she will do next. They expect her to be unconventional and because of this she has become a phenomenon. The next time you work on a marketing project or a new ad campaign, remember that consistency is key. Create branding standards and stick with them. Choose fonts, colors, graphics, etc. and repeatedly use them in all marketing collateral. Lady Gaga is famous because she is consistent, wouldn't you want the same for your company?

Catch the Jimmy Choos
I'll admit it, I was hesitant to jump on the foursquare bandwagon. I had read about the site pleaserobme.com and was petrified that someone would post my address on foursquare, then I would post on facebook that I would be gone for a weekend, and BAM, I'd be on pleaserobme.com. Then, as foursquare caught on, I realized just how much potential it has for marketers, especially when I saw the Jimmy Choo promotion.
According to mashable.com, Jimmy Choo sent out an invite to follow their shoes around town via foursquare. Those who found the shoes in time, received a free pair. As this is Jimmy Choo's first foreay into social media, they did an outstanding and truly creative job. How many more companies will now be utilizing Four Square's check-in feature for objects? This is a brilliant trend I see catching on quickly. What companies would you like to see follow this foursquare trend?
