I'll admit it, I was hesitant to jump on the foursquare bandwagon. I had read about the site pleaserobme.com and was petrified that someone would post my address on foursquare, then I would post on facebook that I would be gone for a weekend, and BAM, I'd be on pleaserobme.com. Then, as foursquare caught on, I realized just how much potential it has for marketers, especially when I saw the Jimmy Choo promotion.
According to mashable.com, Jimmy Choo sent out an invite to follow their shoes around town via foursquare. Those who found the shoes in time, received a free pair. As this is Jimmy Choo's first foreay into social media, they did an outstanding and truly creative job. How many more companies will now be utilizing Four Square's check-in feature for objects? This is a brilliant trend I see catching on quickly. What companies would you like to see follow this foursquare trend?
